Note per i viaggiatori:

When you arrive, the 'wow' come out one after the other, in front of a view trought the sea, palm trees and sparkling huge hotel. But then, as you progress in the exploration, how can I say, a feeling of empty assails you. Or, anyway, this is the effect that Miami did to me. With some exceptions.
My flight arrived at Miami airport on time, around 8 pm. From the windows (of the other passengers... this time unfortunately I found only a central place), I saw that red color blend every fold of the coast and I saw 'wow', what a beautiful welcome. I waited inside the building until the arrival of 'my man' in Miami, that is a so kind woman, a friend of a cousin of mine, who wanted to host me during my stay.

Another thing that I liked very much is that in Miami you can find every type of cuisine: Italian, Cuban, Japanese, Thai, Uruguayan... there is something from everywhere. But, depending on the area, they could close very soon. At 10 pm, in North Beach, everyone is already at home except few rare cases. And in some areas, dramatically, there is really nothing edible, only hotels and cars. A different world is South Beach, where nightlife rules.
The coast to the ocean, in Miami Beach, is a quite uninterrupted wall of expensive hotels, while further inland, towards the channel, are placed the houses built along the shore, each with its mini-marina, that in Luxury have nothing to envy to the highest neighbours. The sun is so hot that soon arrive the time to swim. I was expecting to find a sea like picture postcard, but...

I hear an Italian (guys, in Miami everyone speaks Italian or Spanish, you can't escape) telling a friend about his doubt about the beauty of this landscape. The friend replies: "No, don't look it now. In the morning, with the light in that way, looking in this prospective, you see all this expanse...". But, what are you saying? Even if I put myself in that light there, seen from that perspective, I could seem a beautiful blonde 6 feet tall.
However, a bath was a must. Cleaned of the algae and sfter a shower at the nice station, I take a couple of hours trought lunch and coffee, waiting for the hot to fade away. Then I go to the museum. Starting from that one of Art Deco. To get there, I wslk slong the wall of restaurants on Ocean Dr., trought South American and cool music, seeing big-brested waitress and cocktail served in mega-cups larger than the head of the drinkers.

Nearby there is the World Erotic Art Museum, an extensive collection of erotic art, including paintings, sketches, jewelry and entire chairs and beds decorated with erotic references and positions of the Kama Sutra. Ah, there is also a treat for film lovers: the phallic sculpture, white, used as a 'improper weapon' by the protagonist of 'A Clockwork Orange' in one of the most famous scenes of the film.
I must be honest. In the end, this day in Miami left me with the desire to change positions. I am literally ran away from South Beach and I dedicated the evening to organize a trip for the next morning, to the Florida Keys (which I will devote more than one post). But, back to Miami to take the plane towards New Orleans, I decided to give at this city a final chance and I must admit, I was in my water, trought the visit at the History Miami and Little Havana.

1) cost: the entrance to the museum of the Art Deco Welcome Center is $5, while the option museum + audioguide is around 20; World Erotic Art Museum costs $15 and has the great advantage of being open until the evening; the bus is $2.25 and is not a bad choice to move in Miami Beach and take a walk; alternatively, there is a bike sharing service, more odious but obviously more flexible.
2) info: there are lots of points for tourist information and each has a nice newsletter with an overview of activities, museums, restaurants and everything that can help tourists to orientate.
3) advice: if you want to go around in a browse mode, I recommend to bring with you some snacks and water, in case you arrive in zones of 'shadow'; and also something to cover your heads, the sun 'burns'.
